In 2016, Dr. Kristine Newman hosted the Youth Dementia Awareness Symposium (YDAS) at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Kristine Newman from the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing at Ryerson University hosted the Youth Dementia Awareness Symposium (YDAS) to bring together a variety of caregiver perspectives. The symposium included voices from youth caregivers, researchers, and community organizations.
